Human Trafficking Awareness every licensure period.

Every person in direct care in Texas must take the Human Trafficking Awareness course. For RNs, it is every licensure period or 2 years

There is specific language in the Texas statutes requiring you to take a course approved by the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (THHSC). They are also required to provide a FREE course. I used to have it as Class A credit but other TAC language made it ridiculous to continue with a simple 1-hour course.

Once you take your CEs (except Human Trafficking), I will enter them into your AANA Transcript if you are a member. You will also be sent certificates of completion for your files. If the BON audits you for CEs of NBCRNA (Yes! they are auditing 5% of our recertifications), you must submit your certificates of completion. AANA Transcripts are not accepted as a validated educational activity.

Texas does not currently have a reporting system. Licensees are required to keep track of their continuing education requirements with certificates of completion.

Yes. We report your course completion to the AANA if you are a member of the AANA.

Credits are entered into the AAA CE Portal Monday through Friday. Expect to see your credits on your transcript within 48 hours during the Monday through Friday schedule.

Yes. You will receive certificates of completion in your email within 48 hours of course completion Monday through Friday in most situations.

Simply search your email inbox for the email sent to you, and also check your spam folder as sometimes emails may end up there. We encourage everyone to construct a digital folder for easy reference.

Simply print the certificates of completion from the email you received after course completion and follow the Texas BON instructions on how to submit proof of compliance. The Texas BON will provide sufficient time for you to take the courses prior to submitting the required documents.
